PhD / Research Assistant (m/f/d) at the Institute of Management Accounting & Control, WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management


Functie omschrijving

Our doctoral program aims to enable candidates to write an excellent doctoral thesis in management accounting & control and help them engage in international scholarly discussions. While pursuing your thesis, you will be able to gain valuable practical skills in teaching, our controller panel, for the practioner journal "Controlling & Management Review" or with our Center for Controlling & Mangement. You will be

  • Doing empirical research on the transformation of the finance function and the consequences of digitalization on reporting, planning and control as well as the role of the controller

  • Collaborating with our faculty, international researchers and other doctoral students on publication projects

  • Working with leading German companies on controlling related benchmarking processes, working in our editorial team or supporting our teaching activities and the WHU Controller Panel

Functie eisen

  • a very good university degree and thesis in business studies or related fields
  • high motivation and enthusiasm for research and academic projects
  • excellent analytical skills
  • excellent English language abilities
